Alpha Male StatusAlpha Male Control & AuthorityYou must be able to distinguish between what you have control over, and what you do not. The same goes for authority. Control is the alpha male’s power that he has over himself and others, implicit or explicit. Authority is his explicit right to enact control. The alpha male can’t have total control unless he has authority first. Luckily, adults at least have control and authority over themselves. Authority is a very important asset to an alpha male neophyte (aka alpha male in training). The more alpha male training endured, the more the alpha male learns about making the most of his authority. The alpha male uses authority to increase his control. At one extreme, the alpha male believes himself to have much more control than he actually has. At the other extreme, the non-alpha male believes he has much less control than he actually has. In the reality that is our dynamic and ever-changing world, your control can vary depending on various situations that arise. But, no matter what, the alpha male always has control over himself, his feelings, his thoughts, and most importantly, his words and actions (barring extreme circumstances). At this point in the alpha male training, it doesn’t matter where you think you fall on the spectrum of control. The first thing the alpha male neophyte understands is that he has the authority to begin the journey to alpha male status. He knows he can change and he wants to improve. Once the alpha male absorbs that realization, he can begin to steadily increase the amount of control he enacts over his own life. The more control the alpha male has over his own life, the more successful he will be in virtually all areas of his life and his interactions with his environment.
